Do you need a visa for a Mediterranean cruise from Turkey?
It depends on your citizenship, not on the route. Every sailing in this selection calls at Greek or Italian ports, and some also call in France and Spain — all Schengen countries. EU citizens and citizens of Schengen visa-waiver countries (including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan and South Korea) don't need a visa for any of these routes. Russian, CIS and Turkish passport holders need a Schengen visa obtained in advance at a consulate — there are no visa-free options with shore calls in Greece or Italy, and no visa is issued on board or at the port. The only cruise that stays out of the Schengen area is a sailing along the Turkish coast (Fethiye, Kaş, Demre, Kalkan, Göcek) on the Grand Admiral (operated by Infoflot), available on request.

For most other nationalities — including Russian, CIS and Turkish passport holders — a Schengen visa is required for every cruise here, since all of them include shore calls in Greece or Italy. The consulate is determined by the EU Visa Code, not by the traveler: apply to the country of main stay (the most days on the route), or, if that can't be determined, the country of first entry. For MSC Orchestra sailings from Istanbul, the booking conditions specify a multiple-entry Schengen visa via Greece. One-way cruises ending in Bari, Trieste, Civitavecchia (Italy) or Tarragona (Spain) require a visa covering the days after disembarkation, and the return flight is booked separately. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond departure regardless of citizenship.
