One obvious option or twenty to choose from — that is the real difference between an official representative and an aggregator.

Most people looking for a clinic in Turkey know only two options: go directly to a clinic, or trust a "travel agency." In practice, intermediaries in medical tourism split into two fundamentally different types — and that difference determines what you actually get.

Why an Aggregator Isn't Always the Better Choice

An aggregator solves one problem — you don't have to search for clinics yourself — and creates another: instead of one confusing decision, you get 20 similar offers, and you still have to decide which one is best, just based on someone else's word rather than your own research. An aggregator earns on referral volume, not on what happens to you after surgery — so its stake in any single clinic's quality is objectively weaker than that of a party accountable for exactly one partner.

What an Official Representative Offers

An official representative works on the opposite logic: exclusively tied to one clinic (or medical group), with a direct interest in every referred patient getting exactly what was promised — because its reputation depends entirely on one partner, not spread across hundreds. This doesn't remove the need to verify the clinic itself — it still has to pass the same checks (licence, who performs the procedure, real price) covered in our other guides.

Honest Limits of Both Models

With an aggregator: more clinics and doctors to choose from if you want to compare; but no deep personal accountability for the outcome at any single partner.

With an official representative: fewer choices — one clinic instead of dozens — but higher transparency and predictability. You know exactly where you're going, and the representative can't "redirect" you to a different partner if something goes wrong.

How to Check Who You're Actually Dealing With

Ask directly: "How many clinics do you work with?" If the answer is "we have a large partner network" or names a dozen options, you're talking to an aggregator. If a single, specific clinic is named — with a specific representation certificate and contract number — that's an official representative.
