The tour to Dalyan from Marmaris starts in the village of Kajegiz, located on the shore of the lake of the same name. From there, you will take a pleasure boat down the Dalyan River to its confluence with the Mediterranean Sea. Kejegiz is one of the largest freshwater lakes in Turkey. It attracts not only fishermen, but also lovers of surfing and sailing.

A boat ride will give you the opportunity to admire the beautiful scenery of pristine nature on the mountain slopes that stretch along the banks of the river, see rare species of trees and tropical flowers. Your guide will tell you the stories and legends of ancient Lycia and the ancient cities of Kaunos and Kavnos. The remains of Lycian tombs and necropolis, carved into the rocks at high altitude, can be viewed directly from the boat.

    Sultaniyeh Thermal Complex

The first stop on the route will be the Sultaniye complex of geothermal springs and mud baths. This is one of the most popular, largest and oldest complexes. Thermal water and mud are curative, their properties have been known for a very long time, so people come here not only from all over Turkey, but also from all over the world. In addition to the healing effect, they give a noticeably rejuvenating effect by improving the metabolism and increasing the overall tone of the body.

After taking mud baths and swimming in the mineral water pools, you will have lunch directly on the boat. A delicious lunch in the fresh air with the amazing mythical stories of these places will be another pleasant memory of this day.

    Iztuzu Nature Reserve

After that, you will head to Iztuzu Nature Reserve, or Turtle Beach. This is a long sandbar, which is washed on one side by the salty waters of the Mediterranean Sea, on the other — by the fresh waters of Dalyan. But this is not the only thing that makes it unique.

This beach was chosen by sea turtles kareta as a breeding place: they come here to lay their eggs and go back to the sea. So, if you are lucky, you will be able to see both the giants themselves and the newly hatched turtles that will take their first steps towards the sea.

Turtles are so used to people here that they calmly make contact and even give them the opportunity to take a selfie with them. Iztuzu is also known as the only place in Turkey where the blue crab is found. So you can try to catch these beauties yourself and even taste them. You will have plenty of time to swim, sunbathe, eat, and just walk along this incredibly beautiful sandy beach.

    Additionally

At the end of the walk, you will return by boat to the village of Kajegiz. A bus will take you to Marmaris at approximately 19.00.
