How much does a hair transplant in Turkey cost?

Estethica Hospital Istanbul is a Class A medical centre licensed by the Turkish Ministry of Health (licence Ruhsat No. 46, A Tipi Tıp Merkezi). Founded in 2008, the clinic now works in its own licensed centre in Ataşehir, Istanbul, not in rented operating space, and has performed more than 28,000 hair transplants. The surgeon personally harvests the grafts and creates the recipient sites, then implants the grafts together with two licensed nurses. Why does it cost less than in the UK and Europe?
Estethica works in its own licensed centre, so it pays no rent for operating theatres, and it has had a steady flow of patients since 2008. What is included in the surgery price?

How to verify a hair transplant clinic in Turkey
Turkey has no official ranking of hair transplant clinics. Published "top clinic" lists are compiled by the clinics themselves, medical aggregators or authors of paid press releases. The Turkish Ministry of Health does not rank clinics: it licenses them and keeps a public register of licensed medical facilities, so you can check a clinic yourself before you travel. Estethica's licence (Ruhsat No. 46, A Tipi Tıp Merkezi, a Class A medical centre) can be checked at saglik.gov.tr, and we send a copy on request. A clinic can change its price at any time, but only the Ministry of Health assigns a licence class. That is why the state licence of the medical centre matters more than commercial certificates. Our representative certificate EST-2026-06-992 is issued by the clinic itself: it confirms the partnership and is not a government document.
An anaesthetist examines every patient in person after the surgeon's assessment and blood tests, and administers the anaesthesia and sedation. The clinic confirms the name of your surgeon about 24 hours before the operation. Before that, you can have a video consultation with a surgeon, who reviews your photos.
Timeline, aftercare follow-up and guarantee
The surgery takes one day and the whole trip three: surgery on day 1, a free day on day 2, aftercare procedures and discharge on day 3. The first visible results appear at 3–4 months, and the final result at 12–18 months.
After you return home, BIOHACTOUR follows your recovery for a full year. We request photos of the transplanted area 10 days after surgery, then 3 weeks later, then after one month, three months, six months and twelve months. Outside this schedule you can ask for a consultation at any time, through us or directly with the clinic.
On discharge on day 3 you receive an Estethica guarantee certificate setting out the guarantee terms. If, after 12 months, the clinic's doctor finds the result in the transplanted area unsatisfactory, corrective treatment of that area is free of charge. How many grafts do I need for a hair transplant?
The number of grafts depends on the size of the bald area and the density you want: a dense hairline usually needs 30–50 grafts per cm². The upper limit is set by the donor area at the back of your head. A single session typically moves 4,500–5,000 grafts, or up to 6,000 with a strong donor area. Why does the price rise with the graft count at many clinics?
A graft is not a single hair but a group of one to four hairs, about two on average, taken from the donor area at the back of the head. Many clinics charge per graft, or sell packages capped at a set number of grafts and charge extra above that, including a surcharge for a megasession. The exact number is often only confirmed on the day, after you have already booked your flights, so the final bill can end up higher than the first quote.
